This Vacuum Cube 6x12 inch vacuum chamber standard low-iron, tempered glass viewing window plate assembly is designed to fit our 6x6x12 or 6x12x12 modular Cube chambers. The standard glass window viewing plate assembly is a popular Cube option which allows the user to inspect chamber processes and perform basic optical experiments. It is commonly used for viewing processes in high-vacuum settings and can be used to facilitate optical alignments of chamber components, observe degassing of fluids, or used to help teach in-vacuo processes by direct observation. This standard glass window is 3/8" thick, tempered, low-iron, high-clarity glass. Our innovative zero metal-to-glass contact mounting system ensures operator safety and is less prone to leakage than other viewport window configurations, even at high-vacuum pressures. We offer other window assemblies and replacement panes with fused quartz (Heraeus TSC-3) or fused silica (Corning HPFS 7980) material. These fused materials are often selected for experiments where improved optical clarity and extended wavelength transmissivity is required beyond the visible range. Fused quartz and fused silica are better choices when working in the Near Ultraviolet and Near Infrared wavelengths.
