Dust filters are installed within housings at the pump inlet to protect the pump against ingested small particles and dust. This FH-40-65 housing encases a element media dust filter cartridge (not included DF 40-65 P/N 140141S on this website) used to filter 98% of particles larger than 5 microns from inlet gases for Trivac D 16/25 B pumps. Note that installing a dust filter in the intake line of the pump throttles its pumping speed at lower intake pressures much more than at higher intake pressures .
